Obituary of Joseph Markowitz

Joseph Markowitz, age 89, died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Spring Meadow Nursing Home in Summit. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he lived in Warren from 1960 to 2004 and for the past eight years has resided at Spring Meadows in Summit. Joseph attended the City College of New York. He was a former member of Congregation Beth Israel. He was very active in Temple Beth El, where he was the former President. Mr. Markowitz enjoyed drawing and working on his yard. He is predeceased by his wife, Lenore Rose in 1991 and his daughter, Leslie Ann Markowitz-Kadin in 1991. Surviving are his son, Alan J. Markowitz and his wife, Colleen and his daughter, Marla Markowitz-Bace and her husband, John Bace, Jr., and his granddaughter, Jaclyn. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by the interment at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.
