Obituary of Carmine J. Sylvester

Carmine Joseph Sylvester (Carmen), 53, of Newark and formerly of North Plainfield and Plainfield, left this earthly home unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2007. His parents, Geatal and Antoinette Sylvester and his twin brother Geatal Sylvester (aka Brett Devon), all predeceased him. Carmen leaves behind three sisters and their spouses who will miss him; Karen (Lee) Flanagan of South Plainfield, Carol (Christopher) Killeya of Westerville, Ohio and Debra (Stephen) Clarke of Westfield. Uncle Carmen, deeply loved by his nieces and nephews, who have been profoundly affected by his outpouring of love and support for them include Melissa Killeya of Houston, TX, Matthew Clarke of Westfield, Kimberly Killeya of Westerville, OH, William Clarke of Westfield, Emily & Christopher Killeya of Westerville, OH and Ryan Flanagan of South Plainfield. Carmen graduated from Plainfield High School in 1971 and was employed by Turning Point in Verona as an admissions supervisor for several years. Carmen was a colorful and generous person, known for his devotion to family and friends, love of cooking and scary movies. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 10 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
