Obituary of Rose Kohl

Rose (Serkin) Kohl, age 91, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Norwood Terrace Nursing And Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield. Born in Russia, she settled in Bayonne as a child. She resided in North Plainfield for many years before moving to Toms River and most recently moved back to Plainfield. Rose was a member of Deborah and other local organizations. In her spare time she enjoyed arts & crafts, knitting, playing mahjong, reading and crossword puzzles. Her biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Saul Kohl in 1967, her son Joseph Kohl in 2011, and her brothers Jack and Sidney Serkin and her sister Edith Diamond. Surviving is her daughter Sharon Beim and her husband Andrew; daughter-in-law Phyllis Kohl; grandchildren Seth Beim and his wife Christy, Sean Beim and his wife Nicole, Jason Beim and his wife Christine and Stephanie Kohl Millner and her husband David; two great-grandchildren Aubrey Madison Beim and Cameron Joseph Beim and her brother Irving Serkin. A Funeral Service will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield, NJ followed by interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
