I remember sitting in his office on George St. and Netherwood Avenue as a very young child, with my father, squaring away insurance matters. As my sister and I would walk past his office every day on our way to St. Bernard's School, we would frequently see him coming and going.
I saw George many, many years later, at least 30) at the ice cream parlor on Park and Maple in South Plainfield, and I recognizing him, quickly and unmistakably. I approached him, and when I looked into his eyes as we began speaking, I felt I was back in another time.
I just ran across George's obituary today, 12 years later, and from time to time, since I last saw him in South Plainfield, I have always remembered him from time to time, as I did prior to seeing him.
May he rest in eternal peace, bliss and happiness with our maker.

Robert and I were so sorry to hear that George has passed away. He has been our insurance agent for decades but he was more than that. He was an old family friend and I always looked forward to talking to him and know how much he loved his family. I know you all will miss him and pray that God will heal your hearts in time.

Dear All,
We were unable to come to NJ for the services for Uncle George due to the imminent arrival of a grandchild, but we wanted to extend our sympathy to you all. I have wonderful memories of your dad and his great sense of humor. I don't ever remeber him with anything but a smile on his face. He will be missed by all.

"Mr. George" as he was affectionately known in the neighborhood, was always quick to say hello to the me and the neighborhood kids. I will miss seeing him take his daily walk up Leland Avenue and his gifts of calamari and cannolis. It has been a pleasure being your neighbor and friend.

Tommy, Cristina, Gina:
I was so sad to learn about your dad and grandfather.
He was a kind and gentle soul.
I'll never forget him coming up to me at my dad's funeral and told me that if my Mom needed anything to give him a call.
You are all in my thoughts.
Take good care.

I was very sad to hear the news of Mr. Polizzano's passing. I grew up with this wonderful family and spent many days at their home which was always open to me amd many of my friends. I will always remember the softball games and Mr. P coaching our CYO basketball teams. He could always relate to my vertically challenged frame! He felt like a second father to me. The thoughts and prayers of my family are with his family at this very sad time.
