Obituary of Katherine Joan Ruskin

Kay Joan Ruskin, age 78, died on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Newark before moving to Basking Ridge in 1960. Mrs. Ruskin was a homemaker and loving mother for her four children and seven grandchildren. She bred and showed Shih Tzus and was active in local dog clubs, and enjoyed quilting. Mrs. Ruskin is predeceased by her husband, William, in 2000. Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Ruskin of Worchester, MA and Kevin Ruskin and his wife, Loretta of Chesterfield, VA; her daughters, Kathy Keane and her husband, Tom of North Plainfield and Kimberly Balzer of Madison, Alabama; her brother, Frederick Toth, Jr. and his wife, Reid of SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kate Ruskin, Tara and Thomas Keane, Elizabeth Holt, Rachel and Edmund Balzer and Ashley Gold. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 10th from 7 - 9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
