Obituary of Mary A. Dunn

Mary Dunn, age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Somerville, she was raised in Raritan, resided in Plainfield for many years and most recently has lived in South Plainfield. Mary attended Somerville High School. She was a receptionist for American Can Company in Union, retiring in 1979. She was a former Communicant of St. Bernard's RC Church in Plainfield and Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Mrs. Dunn enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking, but most of all loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her first husband, Russell Romano in 1966 and her second husband, Walter J. Dunn in 1996 and eight of her siblings. Surviving are her children; Marie Buccellato and her husband, Joseph, Ross Romano and his wife, Loren, Michael Romano and his wife, Linda, Anthony Romano and his fiance, Sally and Marcia Bruno and her husband, Frank; her sister, Catherine Luthman and her husband, Norman; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, St. Jude Tribute program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
