Obituary of Charles Bromwell Mobus, Sr.

Charles B. Mobus, Sr. age, 85, died on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born and raised in Plainfield, he had resided in Warren since 1963. Mr. Mobus attended Plainfield schools, received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, and was a Professional Engineer and an Electrical Contractor. He was involved in the engineering and construction management of large Fossil, Nuclear, and Desalination utility plants in New Jersey, Florida and Saudi Arabia having been employed by major Engineering and Construction Companies. Mr. Mobus was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as Utilities Officer in the 378th Engineer Utility Detachment and was a member of Post 6588 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a pass VP of the Plainfield Jaycees, Administrative officer of the Somerset Power Squadron, and Commodore of the Surf City Yacht Club. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Warren. Surviving are a son Joshua Paul Mobus of Florida, a son Charles B. Mobus, Jr. of New York City, two grandchildren, Edward and Drew, and a sister Cynthia Joy Hirshenson of Boonton. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Linda Baker Mobus in 2010, and a brother Edward Herbert Mobus of Somerville. Arrangements are under the directions of Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Church, 118 King George Road, Warren, NJ 07059.
