Obituary of Dorothy Toolan

Dorothy Jaeger Toolan died peacefully on Monday at Overlook Medical Center. She was 96. Born in Plainfield she was the daughter of the late Anna Flynn Jaeger and Charles Jaeger. She resided in Fanwood for 20 years and in Watchung since 1979. Dorothy was employed as a Supervisor by the Prudential in Newark for 22 years before resigning. While living in Fanwood she was active in St. Bartholomew's Rosary Society and Parent's Guild. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the US and a few foreign countries as well. Dorothy was a member of the Blue Army Shrine in Washington, NJ. She also was a member of Covent House in New York City and Habitat for Humanity. Surviving are her husband John of 62 years and her son John Jr. of Fanwood. Her sister Elva died in 1992. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 7, at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Plainfield. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
