Obituary of Marie T. Cappuccio

Marie T. Cappuccio (nee Scardilli), 80, formerly of Colonia, died peacefully on December 29, 2011, in the presence of her loving family at Berkeley Meadows Care Center. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10 am. Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren Twp. at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Marie was born in Newark and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Marianina Scardilli. She graduated from the Berkeley Secretarial School and was employed by the Newark Board of Education. Marie married Michael N. Cappuccio in 1952 and they resided in Colonia for many years where they raised their four children. Marie returned to the workforce in 1965, employed as a secretary and office administrator by Marco Chemical, then National Executive Consultants, and later Northeast Administrators. She retired in 1995. Marie most enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her love of family was second to none and she will be missed by all. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Michael N. Cappuccio (1989); and is survived by her son, Michael A. and Sandra (Vitale) Cappuccio of Colonia; three daughters, Denise Cappuccio of Basking Ridge and Bill Malta, Diane Musmanno and Tom, of Warren Twp., and Marianne Lupo and Joseph, of Warren Twp.; two sisters, Domenica DelGuercio of Brick and Antoinette Cortese of North Caldwell; and her loving and adoring grandchildren, Andrea Cappuccio Edwards and her husband TJ, Dana and Jena Cappuccio; Matthew Musmanno; Joseph, Stephanie, Michael and Julianna Lupo, and many loving nieces and nephews.
