Obituary of Sr. Marilyn Grimley, RSM

Sister Marilyn Grimley, Sister of Mercy Sister Marilyn, 79, died suddenly on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. Originally from South Amboy, she attended St Mary Elementary and High School, South Amboy and entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1950. Sister Marilyn served in the Metuchen Diocese at Mount Saint Mary Motherhouse and McAuley Hall Health Care Center. She was secretary in Our Lady of Lourdes School in Milltown, and St. Pius X High School in Piscataway. In the Trenton Diocese she taught at St Joseph School in Trenton and for thirty years she was a valued member of the support staff at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. She was a devoted member of the Sisters of Mercy for 61 years. She retired to Gabriel Hall at Mount Saint Mary in 2011. She is survived by her sister, Jean Harbstreet, her nieces and nephews; April, Jamie, David and Richard Harbstreet, her sister-in-law Christine Grimley all of New Jersey and many Sisters of Mercy. Visitation will take place at Mount Saint Mary - Immaculate Conception Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
