Obituary of Jean Marie Rutledge

Jean Marie Rutledge, nee Kelly, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Avalon at Bridgewater. Her immediate family was at her bedside at that time. Born in West Orange, N.J., on February 18, 1922, she moved to Green Brook, N.J. in 1955. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Harriett Kelly and her siblings Joseph Kelly, Roger Kelly, Evelyn Kehoe, Billy Kelly, Alice Hughes, Junie Kelly, Dorothy Feely and Joan Saitta. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Rutledge in 1985 and a son, Warren T. Rutledge. She had numerous careers during her employment years; manufacturing, office work, banking, nursing and she retired from Scientific Machine Company in Middlesex in 2000 at 78 years of age as the office manager. She is survived by a daughter, Gail A. Bogan and her husband Edward of Long Valley, N.J., a son, Leonard J. Rutledge of Green Brook, N. J., a daughter-in-law, Patricia Rutledge, granddaughters Robin Bogan, Karen Bogan, Sharon Carpenito and her husband Anthony, Kimberly Forino and her husband Michael, grandsons Leonard J. Rutledge, Kevin Rutledge and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Higgins Funeral Home. 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, New Jersey 07069. A Mass will be celebrated at 9a.m. Thursday at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 300 Clinton Ave., North Plainfield, NJ. Internment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ.
