Obituary of Peter J. Mooney

Peter J. Mooney, age 80 died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home in Warren. He was born in Upper Darby, PA and was a longtime Warren resident. Mr. Mooney attended both Villanova and Rutgers University. He served in the United States Army and saw action in the Korean War. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was a District Manager for New Jersey Bell where he worked for 34 years. Mr. Mooney is survived by his wife, Shirley Gabrielsen Mooney and his sister, Ann Bryer of Fair Haven. Funeral services will begin on Monday, May 21st at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Township Rescue Squad, 6 Bardy Road, Warren, NJ 07059.
