Obituary of Vernasia Ann Ross

Vernasia (lovingly referred to as Vanessa or Vee) Ann (Norment) Ross, age 52, died on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville. Born and raised in Plainfield, she was a graduate of Plainfield High School. Vernasia was an office worker but also served as a home health aide, helping to care for those closest to her. In her spare time she enjoyed arts and crafts, writing and most of all, loved spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband Darryl Ross; son Jayshon Norment; daughters Laquia Norment, Goldye Norment, Darnasia Norment and Akina Norment; brothers Dwight Norment, James Vincent Norment and Timothy Stewart; sister Donna Norment; and mother Goldie Norment. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8thStreet, Plainfield, NJ followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Cremation is private.
