Obituary of Armond DiDario

Armond DiDario, age 85,passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at his home in North Plainfield surrounded by his family. Son of the late Anna and Gabriel DiDario, he was born and resided in the Plainfield area his entire life. Mr. DiDario starred in football for Plainfield High School where he was described by reporters at the time as one of the best backs to ever wear the Cardinals uniform. He also played semi-pro football for the Plebs and played and coached for the Plainfield Crusaders. He founded the company, Armond Builders, which constructed many quality homes in the region. Mr. DiDario will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Helen and children, Diane, Donna, Dean and his wife, Mary, as well as three grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Brad, Anna and Daniel and one great-grandchild, Samantha. He is also survived by his brother, Gabe and sisters, Sally and Daisy. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nicholas and Dino. Armond will be remembered for his integrity, strength of character, private philanthropy and love of the New York Giants. There will be a gathering on Tuesday, May 12th from 4 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
