Obituary of Anne B. Johnson
Middlesex: Anne B. Johnson, age 108, died on Friday May 29, 2015 at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. Born on April 21, 1907 to the late Maria and Francisco Brigante in Plainfield NJ, she had resided in Piscataway before moving to Middlesex in 1967.
Prior to her retirement in 1972, Anne had worked for 42 years as an executive secretary for the American Cyanamid Company in Bound Brook. Anne was very active in the Hodge –Corsini Ladies VFW and was a member of the Second Indian Head Association’s National Auxiliary. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Middlesex NJ.
She was always an impeccable dresser and took great pride in her appearance. Anne loved to knit, crochet and sew. She enjoyed taking in a Broadway Show, cooking and trying new recipes but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Her husband Alfred Johnson predeceased her in 1966.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Anthony (Jake) Cataldo and his wife Lois of South Plainfield, NJ, Ann Kelly of Basking Ridge and Gwen Kurliew of South Plainfield NJ
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9 to 10 am at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ followed by a 10:30 am funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church in Middlesex NJ. The interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
