Obituary of Kevin P. Kelley

Toms River: Kevin P. Kelley, age 68, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berkeley Heights. He was born in Plainfield to the late Charles F. Kelley, Sr. and Mary R. Fitzgerald Kelley and had lived in Watchung and Flemington before moving to Toms River. He is a graduate of Plainfield High School. Mr. Kelley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Vietnam. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was a police officer for the Watchung Police Department for 25 years. Mr. Kelley was a life member of the VFW of South Jersey and he belonged to The American Legion George P. Vanderveer Post in Toms River. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed bowling. He is predeceased by his brothers, Brian James Kelley and Eugene M. Kelley. Surviving are his son, Kevin P. Kelley, Jr. of Colonia; his daughter, Michele Glowczynski of Colonia; his brother, Dr. Charles F. Kelley, Jr. and his wife, Joann of Allentown, PA; his sisters, Geraldine Kelley of Stirling and Maureen Buchanan and her husband, David of North Plainfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday, June 15th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.
