David & Jennifer,
Always have a special place in my heart for the fond memories knowing you two during my early teens. I just came across this and want to give you condolences. Your dad was something special to achieve all he did. Hope all is well with you two. Todd Lisella

It was a special privilege to know David and to serve on the President's Circle with Carol. Our times together at Centenary were all too few and too brief but this beautiful photo tribute brings David and his life very much alive. His accomplishments will live on and his contributions are lasting. Rest in peace dear David.

Marcia and I think of you and David often and remember fondly our time together at Centenary College. Dave was a wonderful man and true leader. Our work together to create the Lackland Center
was the high point of our work at Centenary. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am so happy to have had the privilege to be a part of Dave’s life. Dave lit up a room with his smile. His sharp business sense and his kindhearted spirit often found me saying “I love my job!” – something that I never took for granted. Dave – you are deeply missed. <3

We have lost a wonderful, caring and generous friend. We send our love and sympathy to Carol and family. I grew up in Watchung and we shared many "Watchung" stories at our Centenary College meetings including our love of Wilson Memorial Church, Roland Ost, and so many others. He meant so much to so many...it's a sad day.
In sympathy,
Ellis and Suzanne Wallbank Rowland

It has been a privilege working for Dave and his family for many years. Dave was never a "boss", he is the definition of LEADER. Always willing to teach, lend a hand, advice, support; basically anything you needed. Compassionate with a great sense of humor. My hero. I will miss your great smile and sparkling eyes.

Dave Lackland was a truly special man - he was like my second father, growing up next door to the Lackland's on Brook Drive in Watchung. I have so many fond memories of Christmas Eve celebrations, Santa Claus coming to visit, "Kentucky fried chicken" pool parties, and even more special memories from Carol and Dave's beautiful beach house in Loveladies. He was an incredibly generous man and he leaves an amazing legacy.
Aunt Carol, David, Jennifer, Tessa and the entire Lackland family - Deepest sympathies, he will be missed.
Love,
Paula Ann (Jolly)

We truly lost a Giant. We lived next door to Dave and Carol when we had the only two homes on Brook Drive. We have many fond memories of Christmas Eve's together and also fun times at the beach house (including watching him wiz around the kitchen cooking up one of his specialties!). One of my first paying jobs was washing and waxing his Buick Electra - needless to say I made a mess of it but he paid me with a smile. As the Greeks say - "May his Memory Be Eternal!"
