Obituary of Paul Horwath
Paul Horwath, age 81, died on Friday, October 2, 2015 at his home in Warren. He was born in Marko, Hungary and came to the United States in 1956 and lived in Union, NJ before moving to Warren 53 years ago.
He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and later became a self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker.
He was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and was a member of the choir. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the harmonica, singing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a volunteer at Runnell's Hospital in Berkeley Heights, NJ for over 30 years.
Mr. Horwath is predeceased by his wife, Mathilde Maria Schur Horwath in 2013.
He is survived by his children, Herbert Horwath and his wife, Tina, Paul John Horwath and Stephen Horwath; his grandchildren, Michael, Garrett, Stevie, Harrison and Dylan and his brother, Anton Horwath and his wife, Marie.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Woodbridge.
