Obituary of Lucille J. Nowik

Lucille Nowik died peacefully with her son, Dennis, at her side on October 3, 2015 at The Chelsea at Warren, She was 93 years old. Lucille was born in Plainfield, grew up in New Market and Somerville and raised her family in Plainfield, NJ. After briefly living in South Amboy, she returned to Somerville before moving to The Chelsea 7 years ago. Lucille work at Tepper’s Department Store as a Buyer in Woman’s Foundations for many years and ended her career working for Smoothie in New York City where, after several years traveling to most of our major cities representing the Smoothie brand, she managed the Company’s New York showroom. She volunteered for many years delivering Meals on Wheels and was invited to a state dinner for volunteers and awarded a certificate of appreciation for her service by the Governor. Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Carol Crook, of Southern Pines NC, daughter Linda Costanzo and companion Arthur Lewis of Warren, grandchildren Mark Crook and his wife Margie of Branchburg, Paul Crook and his wife Kristie of Las Vegas, Lisa Stafford and her husband Richard of Sea Girt and Daniel Costanzo and his wife Jamie of Hazlet. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Ashli and Alexa Kravarik, Daniel and Angelina Costanzo and her sister-in-law Peggy Hood Waters of Enterprise, Al and niece Carol Smith of Nashville, TN. The family would like to thank Grace Hospice and the Chelsea staff for their compassion and gentle care and support. Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Lucille wished to have her ashes buried with her parents James and Elizabeth Waters at Hillside Cemetery.
