Obituary of Muriel Siccardi

Plainfield: Muriel (Higgins) Siccardi, age 98, passed away on Saturday October 17th, 2015 at the Center for Hope Hospice Center in Scotch Plains. She was born in Plainfield and was a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mrs. Siccardi was a graduate of Plainfield High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. She was an active member Muhlenberg Hospital Auxiliary for many years and a past member of the Laurel League and active for the Nearly New Shop for the hospital. Mrs. Siccardi was a parishioner of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Plainfield after attending grade school and being a parishioner of St Mary’s for some fifty years. Mrs. Siccardi is predeceased by her husband Louis F. Siccardi D.D.S. in 1997, her brother Charles A. Higgins and two sisters Dorothy Hare and Madilyn Manahan. She is survived by her son James Siccardi and his wife Dr. Anita Siccardi of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren James Siccardi and his wife Jessika; Ellen Siccardi and her husband John and Peter Siccardi; five great grandchildren Peter Louis, Andrew James, Kendal, Riley and Chandler. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and loving friend for over 80 years Agnes Higgins. A visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home followed a 1:00 pm funeral Mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church.
