Obituary of Richard B. Kwiatkowski, D.D.S.
Richard B. Kwiatkowski, D.D.S., age 71, died on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Jersey City, he grew up in Possumtown, lived in Green Brook for many years before moving to Martinsville in 1987.
Richard received his BS from Stevens Institute in Mechanical Engineering. In 1974, he graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He started his dental career with Dr. Merrick in Chatham, NJ. Richard studied with Alwin Schoenenberger in Switzerland who is a world renowned figure in the dental field. Richard credits his career to their relationship which grew into a friendship throughout the years. Richard practiced in Green Brook for forty years in the building he built with his father. He valued all of his colleagues throughout the many years he practiced.
He was an avid golfer and bowler and was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a very generous and humble man; he even sponsored his good friend and employee in obtaining citizenship in the United States from the Philippines.
Most of all Richard loved the time spent with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife Gail (Ross) Kwiatkowski; his sons Brian and his wife Beth and Darren; his grandchildren Kayla and Alexa; his brothers Stephen, Ronald and Eric and his sister Adele Shello.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Cremation will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
