Obituary of William Keith Brown

William Keith Brown, age 63, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born and raised in Plainfield, Keith graduated from Plainfield High School. He served two years in the United States Navy. Keith attended Somerset County Community College and was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Keith worked for several years as a cashier/deli clerk. He also, had worked in plastics for several years at Glasflex. From Cub Scout days Keith had an interest in fishing and cooking. He enjoyed going to opening day for trout season and cooking lunch for friends at the water's edge. Keith was a member of various civic organizations. Keith was a loving, caring, sharing person and made many friends, he will be sadly missed. Predeceased by his mother Louise P. Brown in 1994. He is survived by his longtime companion and friend Ilene Lawton. Surviving is his father Horace D. Brown; brother Paul D. Brown; sister Elyce A. Brown; nephew Arlo C. Brown and niece Rachel M. Barish. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to your favorite charity in Keith's name.
