Obituary of Evelyn C. Miller

Evelyn Christine Miller, age 88, died on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home. She was born in Queens, NY, grew up in Valley Stream and had lived in Watchung for over 40 years before moving to Neshanic Station 20 years ago. Mrs. Miller was the Assistant Tax Assessor in Warren before working as the Tax Assessor for Watchung. She was a past member of Wilson Memorial Union Church. She belonged to the Watchung Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary. She loved gardening, bingo and was an avid reader. Mrs. Miller is predeceased by her husband, James L. Miller and her son James Miller, Jr. Surviving are her son, Douglas Miller and his wife, Jennifer of Flemington and their children, Hannah and Wyatt; her daughter, Katherine Rose of Green Brook and her daughter, Erin and her sons, Keane and Landen; her daughter-in-law, Pat Miller and her children, Colleen, Meghan and Kelly. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Union Church, 7 Valley Road., Watchung. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Watchung Fire Dept., 57 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069 or to the Three Bridges Fire Dept., 467 Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
