Obituary of Amalia Serrano

Amalia Colon Serrano Plainfield: Amalia Colon Serrano, age 69, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her home in Plainfield. She was born in Moca, Puerto Rico and lived in Plainfield most of her life. Mrs. Serrano loved to help and care for people. Prior to working as a teacher's aide for the Plainfield School system, she worked for the Knickerbocker Toy Company for many years. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Genaro Serrano; her daughters, Brenda Sanchez Caicedo, and Mildred Sanchez Moore of Plainfield; Son in law Henry Caicedo, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Sunday January 10,2016 3-6 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield.
