Obituary of Vivian Hamer

Vivian (Beekman) Hamer, age 87, died on Friday, February 26th, 2016, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born and raised in Plainfield, she had resided in North Plainfield, Green Brook and Plainfield before moving back to North Plainfield. Vivian was employed by Fred Lippid's Clothing Store in Plainfield for thirty-five years before retiring. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed taking care of children. Predeceased by her husband Robert Hamer in 1973, her daughter Jackie Hamer, her sister Joyce and her daughter-in-law Linda Hamer. Surviving are her sons Karl Hamer of North Plainfield and Chris Hamer of FL; two grandchildren Jenna and Cole and one great-grandchild Tessa. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 2-7 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Cremation was private.
