KATHERINE ONLEY WEEDON Katherine Onley Weedon passed away to be with the Lord on March 29, 2016. She was born in Dickerson, Maryland to George T. Washington and Maggie E. Lee. Katherine is best known for always having an open home, open arms, and an open heart, for those in need, and for those who wanted to talk about life issues. Everywhere she went, people flocked to her for a sounding-board, for her sage advice, and for her humor. Katherine met life's challenges with an unwavering belief in God, an unwavering belief in His love for us, and an unwavering belief in His promises. During her later years, when adjusting to the changes of old age, she often said with a smile and a twinkle in her eye…. "Getting old's not for sissies!!" Katherine was preceded in death by her husbands Atlee Onley and Dawson Weedon. Katherine's memory will be cherished by her 5 daughters: Betty Harper; Mildred Williams; Joycelyn Camper; Dawn Harcum; and Tonya Benjamin; and cherished by their husbands, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Katherine left some last words to comfort her loved ones..….. "Peace at last…. I will be somewhere around the throne of God… I will be somewhere around the throne of God…. Keep looking until you find me….Come up to Mount Zion…. I will be waiting up there. Don't cry for me…. just come on up….. I will be waiting up there. My cares are all past…. I am home at last!!!!" The family says….. "May the love of God, and the love of our beloved "Bema", comfort you, as you remember her life with joy, and as you thank God for the gift and light that we yet have in her."
