Obituary of Annie B. Little

Annie Bell (Branch) Little was born on October 20, 1931 to the late Lee Branch and Thelma Branch Burrell in Garysburg, North Carolina. She was called from labor to rest on December 11, 2013. She was educated in the Greensville County public schools in Emporia Virginia. At an early age, Annie joined the Antioch Baptist Church in Emporia, Virginia. She relocated to New York and later moved her membership to Burnett House of Faith in Harlem, New York where she assisted the pastor and sang in the choir. While living in California, Annie was a model and during that time she had the opportunity to model with Diane Carroll and Lucille Ball. She was an entrepreneur where she owned and managed Little's Records and a billiard gaming store. She later worked for Rosalind Swartz for 20 years and Louis and Barbara Eisenpresser for 35 years. As her health began to fail, she and her husband moved from New York to Plainfield, New Jersey in 2011 to live with their daughter and her family. Annie was preceded in death by her two sons, Waverly McKinley Branch and Donald Wendell Little, her parents, three brothers, and one sister. Annie leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Melvin Little; one daughter, Rosalind (Albert) Bowens of Plainfield, New Jersey; one grandson, James D. McIver of Wilson, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Anntasia T. Johnson of Union, New Jersey; two great grandsons, Jayden McIver and Jesiah Holmes; one sister, Cathlean Bryant of Emporia Virginia; one uncle, Louis Faison, Sr. of Norfolk Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Theresa Thompson and Annie Ruth Little of Hampton, Virginia and Dorothy Bazmore and Pearl Hendrick of Winsor, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Thornton (Jean) Little of Washington, DC and James Hickman of Richmond, Virginia; a lifetime friend, Lillian Mallory of Bronx New York. She also leaves a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Annie loved her family and her presence will be missed by all.
