Obituary of Gloria M. Kirkland Christopher
Gloria M. Kirkland Christopher, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday February 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica Mrs. Christopher had resided in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Plainfield NJ.
She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed music and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her husband Clifton Christopher and her granddaughter Safiya Josephs in 1980
Survived by her three children Donnetth Josephs, Judith Kirkland and Jacqueline Kirkland; five grandchildren Michele Lawrence, Shomari Josephs, Blake Kirkland Parish, Ashley Kirkland and Michael Kirkland. She is also survived by five great grandchildren Imani Lawrence, Nia Lawrence, Jonathan Josephs, Joshua Kirkland Parish and Isabella May Kirkland Parish; nephews Ashley Allen and Ronald Hanchard.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
