Obituary of Yvonne V. Rebman

Yvonne Vera Rebman Yvonne Vera Rebman, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at home with her family. She was born in Jersey City, raised in West New York, NJ and resided in North Plainfield, NJ until moving to Warren in 1985. Yvonne was a school teacher for more than 25 years. She was most recently employed by North Plainfield public schools before retiring in 2001. Although she taught various grade levels, 4th grade was her favorite. She shared many personal stories with her students thereby creating a special bond with them. Yvonne was a very dedicated daughter, taking care of her father, Alfons, and her mother, Vera, in their elderly years. She loved spending time at the beach, taking family vacations, and participating in community organizations such as women's club and girl scouts. She is predeceased by her husband Dallas Rebman in 1997. Mrs. Rebman is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steve Shollenberger of Womelsdorf, PA; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Aument of Merritt Island, FL; her son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Alison Koemm of Somerville, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law Sandi and Tony Izzo of Melbourne, FL; and her step-daughter and husband Elaine and Scott Cohen of Flemington, NJ. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Jennifer and Jessica; Lauren, Stephen and Caitlyn; Kyle and Alexis; and Mark and Erica. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2-5 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral services will begin at 11 am on Monday at Higgins Home for Funerals, followed by internment at Bound Brook Cemetery.
