Obituary of Donald C. Germaine
Donald C. Germaine, Sr., age 64 passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Powerback Rehabilitation in Piscataway. Born in Irvington, he was raised in Old Bridge and Watchung, resided in East Hanover for many years before moving to Somerset 10 years ago.
Donald served in the US Navy as an Aviation Boatswains Mate from 1975-1977, he was stationed in Jacksonville, FL.
He worked for Pick-A-Deal Meats in Newark as a Master Butcher for many years. He most recently worked as a butcher with BJ’s in North Brunswick.
Donald was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus and served as an Usher at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, Watchung.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, the New York Mets and the New York Giants, he appreciated and collected fine time pieces. Donald was an excellent cook and enjoyed being a butcher.
Survived by his son Donald Germaine; his wife Donna (Avallone) Germaine; siblings Wendy Palozzi, Daniel A Germaine his twin brother; Albert F. Germaine, III and Christine A. Reiss.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Cremation was private.
