Elllie and I met while working at Fresco by Scotto.
We had many wild times and deep talks. We sometimes lost touch for a while but always found our way back to each other.
She made me laugh! So grateful was she for each day and super profound! I know she suffered with a lot of pain and told me she was ready but at the same time was planning on remodeling her kitchen in her mind…
One of the strongest woman I’ve ever known! She made it happen for herself - her dream to live in her beautiful little spot near the water. I love you El!!! We will meet again.

I met Ellen through team N training. She was one of our coaches. After one session of race walking I couldn't walk the next day. I couldn't figure how how she could walk so fast. Se offered me her scarf at mile 19 of the NYC marathon because I was freezing. I got to know Ellen more as I would sit through Chemo session with her. As a nurse knowing her diagnosis I couldn't believe what she was putting herself through but she was a fighter and would not quit. She wouldn't let her disease beat. Well my friend I am sorry to have lost you but know you are in a better place with no more pain. Rest peacefully and hope to see you again.

I met Ellen at Team in Training and we became fast friends. She tried to reach me to racewalk but I just couldn’t move my feet like hers! We went out for breakfast after practice and when the season ended we met to walk, talk, and eat. Ellen always had an adventure for us since I had a car. I will miss our drives talks, breakfast and adventures. I will miss visiting her in Long Branch! She was so happy sitting by the fire. I will miss you my friend! Love you always! I will always remember your favorite line, “that’s just crazy talk”. Norma

When Ellen worked with us at Zocalo, she truly lit up the entire restaurant. She was as beautiful inside as out, with the most incredible laugh and a wicked sense of humor. RIP dearest Ellen.

Diane Baranek is proud to have known Ellen O’Shaughnessy for about 15 years. We worked at Omni together but became much better friends after I left. Ron (Chef Ron) and I drove her around our beachy NJ area and she ended up moving close to me which made our friendship blossom. Brunch was always on the schedule. That girl loved to eat! And we ate everywhere we could. There were also some wonderful “just sitting around and chatting” times too (see a beautiful photo of Ellen w my dog Gemma). I also feel very honored that we got to spend Christmas 2021 with Ellen! It was a very special day! Rest In Peace, Ellen. You are in a better place.
