Obituary of Carol Wood

Carol "Cookie" Wood, age 71, died on Tuesday, August, 26, 2014, at the Portland Maine Medical Center. Carol was born in Newark, NJ to Regina Robertson and the late William Robertson. Carol grew up in North Plainfield and was a 1961, North Plainfield High School graduate. Carol married Jack Wood in 1965. In 1977, they moved from North Plainfield to Warren. Carol and Jack owned Boise Office Equipment in North Plainfield and worked together for many years. Known to most as "Cookie", she was married to her beloved husband Jack for 44 years. They traveled and enjoyed spending summers at their family lake house in Maine with their 3 children. Cookie was known as a kind, generous and adventurous person who always had a positive outlook. She was an amazing daughter, mother, granny and friend to all. She loved animals and rescued many dogs, birds, deer and other animals over the years. Cookie was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her son Michael, and an older brother Bobby. She is survived by her mother Regina Robertson, a son John Wood of Annandale, a daughter Kathy Schwab of Flemington and a brother Bill Robertson. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren whom she adored: Julia, Scott, Sean, Kyle, Alexandra, Shane, Lily and Kate. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September, 13, 2014 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung 07069. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA, or local animal shelter.
