Celebrating the Remarkable Life of Robert Carl Gall (1926-2024)

With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Carl Gall at the age of 97, surrounded by his adoring family in Watchung, NJ, on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Robert's journey through life was marked by devotion, service, and joy, from his early years in Elizabeth and Garwood to his fulfilling days in Warren, Middletown, and finally, Watchung.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II, Robert later earned a bachelor’s degree from Upsala College and enjoyed a distinguished career, notably as Director of Industrial Relations at Lockheed Martin and Vice President of Human Relations at Siemens Corporation.

Beyond his professional and patriotic achievements, Robert's heart was always with his community. This passion began as he reached the proud accomplishment of Eagle Scout (at the age of 14) and continued throughout his life as a dedicated volunteer for the Salvation Army, the Kiwanis Club, his instrumental role in developing the Luftman Towers in Middletown, and his many contributions to the Pop Warner  Football program in Warren.  These are just a few of the examples where Robert, as a dedicated servant, made a difference in the lives of many.

Robert's love for life extended to his passion for travel, exploring Iceland, Europe, and beyond. An avid sports fan, he cheered on the NY Mets and the NY Giants with enthusiasm. Robert's connection to the water, from his days as a lifeguard to his enjoyment of swimming, boating, and the beach, reflected his love for nature and adventure.

A faithful member of Christ Church in Shrewsbury, Robert's spiritual life was a cornerstone of his existence. His legacy is carried on by his daughters, Elizabeth Mirbach (Kenneth Rauber), Susan Hoffman (Arthur), Barbara Sako (Steve), and stepdaughter Karen Koh; nine grandchildren, Karen DeBellis (John), Lauren Caparoso (Jason), Judith Weller (Ryan), Michelle Ten Eyck (David), Robert Hoffman (Gertrude), Steven Sako (Ku’ulei), Jeren Koh, Jia-Lin Koh, and Kay-Lin Koh; and eight great-grandchildren, Massimo, Madison, Gianna, Hailey, Gabriella, Madeline, Kahea, and Kehaulani.

Robert was reunited in peace with his beloved wife of 40 years, Adelheid Gall, who preceded him in 2022.

A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Christ Church, 380 Sycamore Avenue, Shrewsbury, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations offered in Robert's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, by honoring his lifelong commitment to helping others.

As we remember Robert Carl Gall, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a journey of impact and love that touched everyone he met. His legacy will continue to inspire us all.
