Obituary of Frank A. Parisi
On Sunday, March 10, 2024, Frank A. Parisi, aged 96, peacefully passed away at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Frank, originally from Staten Island, NY, spent many cherished years in Carteret, NJ, before ultimately calling North Plainfield, NJ, his home for the last four decades.
During World War II, Frank honorably served as a medical corpsman in the United States Navy, a period that shaped much of his life's journey. He later attended Wagner College, where he studied business, laying the groundwork for his long and fruitful career. For 41 years, Frank dedicated his talents to Proctor and Gamble at their Port Ivory branch, demonstrating unwavering commitment and loyalty.
In retirement, Frank found joy and rejuvenation as a lunch aide at Bedminster Elementary School, where he was beloved for his warmth and humor, especially his playful claim of having photographed Washington Crossing the Delaware, a tale that delighted students and kept him young at heart.
Frank's love for photography led him to capture numerous weddings and family gatherings, leaving a legacy of moments preserved on 8mm film. A devout Catholic, he faithfully attended St. Joseph’s RC Church, enriching his spiritual life in both Carteret and North Plainfield communities.
As the family's historian, Frank meticulously maintained records and crafted a detailed family tree, celebrating many relative's birthday with a personal touch through handwritten cards. His weekly cake-baking tradition underscored his culinary skill and was a testament to his nurturing spirit (and his sweet tooth).
Frank is predeceased by his eleven brothers and sisters.
Frank is survived by his four children Francine Wilden, Donald Parisi (Barbara), Carol Parisi (Bob Vicisko), and Frank Parisi; nine grandchildren Jillian (Brad), Hansi, Carly, Koby (Tori), Jake (Lauren), Ben, Aaron, Jaclyn, and Zack; two great grandchildren Mason and Gunnar. Frank is also survived by his long-time companion, Ann Marie Perrette, and her three children, Al (Terry), Marisa (Charles), and Janice, and her six grandchildren, Lauren, Ed, Christina, Patrick, Laura Grace, and Nicholas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and loving friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung, NJ. A celebration of Frank’s life will continue with a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s RC Church, North Plainfield, on Thursday at 9:30 am, followed by interment at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, honoring his compassionate spirit.
