Obituary of Mary Teresa Cody

Mary Theresa Cody, age 101, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Runnell's Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights. Born in Scotland she had resided in Newark and New Providence before moving to Berkeley Heights. Mrs. Cody was a housekeeper for West Hudson Hospital in Kearny, retiring in 1978. She was a communicant of the Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights and Our Lady of Peace in New Providence. Mary enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband, John Howard Cody in 1984. Surviving are her sons; Father John Robert Cody, CSSR, James and his wife, Patricia, Raymond and his wife, Rosemarie, Fred and his wife, Judith, and Peter and his wife, Susan; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at The Shrine of St. Joseph's, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Shrine of St. Joseph, Stirling, NJ.
