Obituary of Robert Kevin Vaughn

Robert (Rubbie) Kevin Vaughn Bound Brook: Robert Kevin "Rubbie" Vaughn, age 56, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home in Bound Brook. He was born in Fort Dix and had lived in Port Elizabeth and South Plainfield before moving to Bound Brook 30 years ago. Mr. Vaughn was a self employed painter in Bound Brook. He served in the Army National Guard from 1977 to 1983. Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Warren Township American Legion Post # 0293, the Bound Brook Elks Lodge #1488 and the Bound Brook Moose Lodge # 1232. He loved hunting and fishing, playing darts and was the lead singer in the band, "The Wanderers" for many years. He was predeceased by his brother, Ed Vaughn in 2003. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Mary Winn Vaughn; his daughter, Nicole Vaughn of Colonia; his stepdaughters, Charlotte Young of Edison, Tammy Mattox of Manville, Jennifer Mattox of Bound Brook, Bonnie Muscle of Tomaqua, PA and Donna James of Garland, TX; his parents, Robert and Kathryn Vaughn of Shickshinny, PA; his sisters, Debbi (Bill) Richie of South Plainfield, Kelly (Gary) Chalkley of West Milford, Kim (Bill) Powell of West Milford, Dana Vaughn of Coventry, NY and Chrissy (Greg) Rochette of Hilliard, OH; his brothers, Kevin (Cindy) Vaughn of Waretown, Glen (Linda) Vaughn of Scotch Plains and Scott Vaughn of Shickshinny, PA. Also surviving are 2 granddaughters, 17 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, October 19th from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ followed by a 12:00 noon Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel in Warren. Cremation will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
