Obituary of Beth A. Dame

Beth A. Dame, age 70, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit after a courageous battle with cancer. Born at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield to Roscoe and Audrey Lent, Beth was a lifelong resident of North Plainfield and a proud graduate of North Plainfield High School, Class of 1972.

Beth had a distinguished career at AT&T in Basking Ridge, where she worked for 27 years as an administrative assistant, supporting top-level executives with dedication and professionalism. She was a long-time member of Hydewood Park Baptist Church in North Plainfield.

Beth had a deep love for family, animals, and flowers. She enjoyed crafting and art throughout her life, and despite her illness limiting her ability to engage in various crafts, she channeled her creativity into making pot holders for her family. She was also a talented amateur photographer.

Predeceased by her brother Rodman Lent and her nephew Edward, Beth is survived by her husband of 30 years, Joseph Dame; her sister Cheryl Habegger (Ronald); her brothers Roger Lent (Hallie) and Ronald Lent (Joyce). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and loving friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. The memorial service will begin at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, the inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.

In her memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the ASPCA, two charities that were especially close to her heart.
