Obituary of Herbert G. Springle

Herbert G. Springle, age 74, of Somerset died on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a brief illness. Mr. Springle was a graduate of Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield, NJ. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. He was the owner of Herb's Chatham Exxon. He and his wife of 49 years, Joan raised their family in New Providence before retiring to Somerset in 2006. Herbert served on the Board of Trustees at Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church and was treasurer of the Canal Walk Veterans Club. Herbert enjoyed antique cars, especially his 1966 Corvette. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan Cross in 2008. Surviving is his wife Joan to cherish his memory; he was a wonderful father to his children Donna Graziano and her husband Guy of Cranford, NJ and William Springle and his wife Kerry of St. Leonard, MD; he was the best PaPa ever to grandchildren Anthony and Dan Graziano and Emelia and Rawlon Springle; his sister Pat Paluchowski and her husband John of Jackson, NJ; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church in Warren, followed by interment at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
