Obituary of Susan Ruth Spingler

Susan R Spingler Susan R. Spingler, age 62, passed away on March 26, 2015, peacefully at her home in New Bern, NC after a life long illness. Born in Flushing, NY, Mrs. Spingler grew up in Whitestone, NY and Warren, NJ. She resided in Basking Ridge, NJ before moving to New Bern in 2004. Mrs. Spingler was a graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School, Warren, and the Katherine Gibb School in Montclair, NJ. She worked for Ortho Pharmaceutical and Rheochem, Inc. before retiring in 1997. She will be remembered for her love of her home, creating beautiful surroundings with a keen sense of detail and a talent for decorating. She adored entertaining and spoiling her friends and family with her flair for presentation. Mrs. Spingler doted on her pets, most recently her three King Charles Cavalier Spaniels. Her bubbly personality and spirited nature was a gift to those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Spingler is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Donald Spingler of New Bern, NC, her mother, Edna Pedersen of Warren, NJ, her brother Thomas C. Pedersen and his wife Jean of Far Hills, her sister and Ellen Bland and her husband Timothy of Basking Ridge, her Goddaughter, Kristina Hedden of New York City, and many adoring nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas R. Pedersen. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015, from 2-5 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung NJ, 07069. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by an interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
