Obituary of Mary Gemma Jannucci

Sr. Mary Gemma Jannucci, age 82, died Sunday (June 1, 2003) at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung. Sister Gemma entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1939. She received a BS degree in elementary education from Georgian Court College in 1956. Sister Gemma was a dedicated educator in elementary school for more than thirty-nin years. She also served as principal in St. John's School in Lambertville and St. Anthony's School in Port Reading. After retiring from teaching, she served as parish minister in St. Dominic's Parish, Brick Town for 13 years. In 1993, she was transferred to Georgian Court College, where she provided support services for 7 years. She is survived by two brothers, Anthony Jannucci of San Jose, CA and John Jannucci of Brooklyn, NY; and a sister, Madeline Iacuzzi of Staten Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, 1633 Highway 22, Watchung, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
