Obituary of Frank R. Sydlowski, Sr.

Frank R. Sydlowski, Sr. age 92 entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 6, 2004 at his home in Bound Brook. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and had lived in Manville before moving to Bound Brook in 1938. Prior to his retirement in 1978, Mr. Sydlowski was the Chief of Security for the Johns Manville Plant in Manville for 50 years. He was a member of the Bridgewater Senior Citizens, the Bound Brook Elks and the Half Century and the Quarter Century Clubs at the Johns Manville Plant. Mr. Sydlowski owned a photography shop in Bound Brook for a short time following World War II. He was an avid Yankee fan. He enjoyed going to flea markets. He was the 1988 Pocket Billiards Champion with the Bridgewater Senior Citizens and was an avid bowler with the Johns Manville Bowling League. He was predeceased in 1991 by his wife of 52 years, Josephine (Kedziora) Sydlowski, his sisters, Anne Savarese and Julia Soriano and his great grandson Robert Brungard in 1992. Surviving are his son, Frank J. Sydlowski, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Bridgewater; his daughters, Kathryn Blejwas and her husband Walter of Bridgewater and MaryAnn DiPaola and her husband Dr. Joseph M. of High Point, NC and his sisters, Sophie Russo and Lillian Viscione, both of Manville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manville. Visitation will be on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Midland Foundation, c/o Adult Services, P.O.
