Obituary of Augustine DiGiacomo
Augustine DiGiacomo, 70, of Warren, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13th in New York City surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
“Augie” was an honored longstanding partner of JAROS, BAUM & BOLLES, where he started as an Engineer in 1964, leading construction development of corporate headquarters, technical research centers and office centers for major financial institutions, including One World Trade Center; 2, 3 and 4 World Trade Center; National September 11 Memorial & Museum; Whitney Museum of American Art; and Hudson Yards Redevelopment in New York, NY. Augie’s accomplishments also include
notable international projects such as the Broadgate Development in London, MesseTurm in Frankfurt, Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz, and the Friedrichstadt Passagen in Berlin.
Known for his wit, wisdom, great love for family and being a mentor to many, Augie is survived by wife of 47 years Doreen, daughters Lisa Dyer and her husband Marc, Susan DiGiacomo, niece Alyssa Bass, grandchildren Katelyn, Danielle, and Jacob Augustine; brothers Pasquale and Joseph and many close friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 15th from 6 to 8pm and Sunday, August 16th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ. Funeral mass will be at St Mary’s Church-Stony Hill Church at 10am, followed by interment at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Cemetery.
